I manage the County Farms Estate in Norfolk on behalf of Norfolk County Council and we have employed Nick on two projects so far.

The first job Nick carried out for me was in 2011 and involved the repair of a thatched traditional farm barn at Tunstead. The second job was a complete roof replacement of a Grade II Listed bullock shed on a farm near Acle in 2012. On both occasions, I found Nick to be very professional, friendly and competent. He kept me informed of progress and liaised with the occupiers of the property. The work was completed to a very high
standard, within the time frame Nick had estimated and within budget. Both during the works and afterwards, the area around the building was left clean and tidy. He clearly has a detailed knowledge of his craft and a love of his work.

In autumn 2017 Nick and his apprentice carried out a complete rethatch of my house and my neighbour's adjoining house. Nick has a naturally friendly disposition and as well as being a superb craftsman, he clearly enjoys his job enormously and is a perfectionist with regard to every aspect of his profession.

The roof looked wonderful when it was finished, visual proof that there's no substitute for many years experience. I feel very fortunate that my neighbour and I employed Nick to do our roof, we could not possibly have chosen anyone better.
